    $359.40

    Castello della Paneretta

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Pasta, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"Dried nutmeg, cinnamon, dried herbs, redcurrants, cherry cake and lots of cedar and mahogany. Plenty of richness on the palate, which shows layers of dried red fruit, ripe tannins and a fruit-forward finish. There is also a dash of acidity at the end to freshen things up."

  3. New Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG by Castello della Paneretta 2014 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG by Castello della Paneretta 2014

    $239.70

    Castello della Paneretta

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Pasta, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"The Castello della Paneretta 2014 Chianti Classico Riserva is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo. The bouquet here is very distinctive, thanks to a wild side that is presented with balsam and medicinal herb. Those tones segue to black licorice and tar. For sure, this wine offers less primary fruit compared to the more exuberant and juicy 2015 vintage. But if you like those delicate nuances, as I do, you will agree that this wine does a great job in a difficult vintage. I would hold off from cellaring it for too long, because I believe it will offer the best drinking experience in the near term."

  4. New Viña Tondonia Rioja Reserva by Lopez de Heredia 2006

    $414.00

    Lopez de Heredia

    Rioja (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Ham, Pasta, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Salted or Marinated Mushrooms

"The red flagship 2006 Viña Tondonia Reserva was inspired by the vineyards of the Médoc but produced with local grapes, 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo, which achieved 13% alcohol in 2006. It always matures in used American oak barriques for some six years. The oldest of all the reds I tasted, it was also the one with more freshness, which speaks to the quality of the vineyard."

95 points - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, Feb 2018

"Very close in quality to the superlative 2005 (an exceptional vintage in Rioja), this is a wonderfully traditional cuvée of Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha and 5% each of Graciano and Mazuelo. Silky, balanced, fine and mature with a background whisper of old oak, umami, forest floor and wild strawberry flavours and a chalky freshness that cleans the palate."

  5. $444.00

    La Colombina

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Red Meat, Risotto, Roasted Vegetables

"La Colombina's 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is a fleshy and complete expression of Sangiovese that shows staying power and balanced intensity. This wine would pair perfectly next to grilled meats or homemade pasta with game sauce (like wild boar or rabbit). I like the smooth intensity displayed by this wine as it glides cleanly over the palate."

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Red Meat, Risotto

"They’ve reduced the oak aging over the years.  It shows.  Graceful, elegant, firm--not aggressive--tannins.  Alluring!"

95 points - Michael Apstein, Wine Review Online, Feb 2018

"Aromas of rose petals and ripe strawberries follow through to a full body. Layered and chewy with ripe tannins and a flavorful and intense finish. Serious and structured."
