    Churton

Marlborough (New Zealand), New Zealand (New Zealand)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"A standout from Marlborough from an excellent site. Churton often fly outside of the blue-chip banner, but are firmly in my top ten list of producers in New Zealand. Here’s a good reason why, again, to visit the producer or explore the wines. Hello ! Beautiful, fragrant perfume, red cherries, faint musk, gentle undergrowth savouriness, a touch of orange/orange peel. The palate is silky yet shows a fine sheath of tannin keeping things shapely and long. Mouthwatering, fine finish. This is a class act. Stellar pinot noir of structure, seriousness and fine texture with drinkability in tow."

    Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

    Burgundy (France), France (France)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Ham, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Red Meat, Vegetables

"The 2017 Maranges 1er Cru Clos de la Boutière reveals an appealing bouquet of cherries, candied peel, rich soil tones and a light touch of oak. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and tensile, with a chalkier, tighter-knit profile than the more gourmand Fussière, with tangy acids and good length on the finish. Since these vines are pruned in cordon and escaped frost the last few years, yields have been relatively consistent."

    Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Vegetables

"Notions of ripe plums, berries, loamy soil and licorice introduce the 2017 Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière, a medium to full-bodied, velvety wine with rich structuring tannins, a succulent core of fruit and juicy balancing acids. Pure and long on the finish, this hails from soils richer in clay and correspondingly more gourmand than the Clos de la Boutière."

    6 x 750 ml

"The 2017 Santenay Charmes displays a pretty bouquet of red berries, plums and raw cocoa. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with tangy acids, a ripe core of fruit and satiny structuring tannins. The Bachelet brothers explain that this site is characterized by well-drained red soils and typically retains elevated acids even at advanced degrees of maturity. Structurally, it's certainly far from the blocky stereotype of Santenay."

"From parcels planted in 1929 and 1974, the 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Les Vignes Franches exhibits a deep bouquet of blood orange, sweet wild berries, spices, peonies and raw cocoa. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, ample and elegant, with a generous core of fruit framed by supple tannins and ripe acids. This is a delightful Beaune that will offer terrific value."

"The 2017 Volnay Santenots 1er Cru comes from a parcel of 60-year-old vines. The attractive, floral bouquet is well defined, offering black and red fruit combined with iris and light incense aromas and demonstrating good vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine backbone. A more masculine Santenots compared to its peers, but conveying energy and impressive focus on the slightly ferrous finish. Excellent."

"Understated but powerful, the 2017 Pommard 1er Cru Grands Epenots exhibits aromas of sweet red cherries, rose petal, blood orange and dark chocolate, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered palate that's broad-shouldered and concentrated despite its elegant style, framed by succulent acids and supple tannins. This is very promising."

    René Geoffroy

    Champagne (France), France (France)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Caviar, Cocktail, Red Meat, Risotto, Sweets

The 2006 Extra Brut Premier Cru Millésime Terre is pure, fine and intense on the nose, with sweet cherry flavors and a spicy-mineral background. Rich, round and elegant, this is a very fruity-elegant and balanced vintage Champagne with a (very discrete) touch of Jura/Jerez oxidation on the finish. You get nice finesse and elegance here. The finish is long, complex, pretty intense and salty. Fascinating. This is a blend of 30% Chardonnay and 70% Pinot Noir that was disgorged in July 2017 with a dosage of four grams per liter.
