    Jean-Marc Bouley

    Burgundy (France), France (France)

    6 x 750 ml

Ham, Pasta, Red Meat, Suckling Pig, Veal roasted, Vegetables

"There is enough wood to warrant mentioning but not enough to overshadow the wonderfully spicy aromas of plum, black cherry and cassis. I very much like the texture of the extract-rich medium weight plus flavors that are at once powerful yet refined, all wrapped in a very firm, balanced and long finish."

    Michel et Stéphane Ogier

    France (France), Northern Rhône (France)

    6 x 750 ml

    Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Vegetables

"Deep ruby. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, violet, olive paste and smoky minerals, with a suave floral topnote. Offers densely packed black and blue fruit, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that stretch out slowly as the wine opens up. Displays excellent definition on a very long, lively finish that's given shape by chewy, building tannins. (JR) "

"The 2015 Côte Rôtie Reserve is brilliant stuff. I was able to taste this from two separate bottles and it never failed to impress. Coming from all the estate terroirs, and including some seriously top juice, its deep purple color is followed by a beautiful perfume of black raspberries, spiced meats, and incense, with an undeniable mineral/dried earth character developing with time in the glass. With full-bodied richness, ripe, yet present tannin, good mid-palate depth, and a great finish, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will cruise for 10-15 years. 93+"

"The 2015 Cote Rotie Reserve is rich, velvety-textured and long. Raspberries and herbal notes are joined by hints of cured meat in this medium to full-bodied wine. It should drink well for up to 15 years. (JC)"

"A superb vintage in the region has produced a great 2014 Reserva, a wine where they select grapes from the soils with more limestone within their estate. A blend of 80% Tempranillo with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has good ripeness, power and freshness, coming through as a textbook Reserva. It's still young and lively after an élevage in French barrels (40% of them new) for some 20 months. This was inspired by some wines from Bordeaux, even though it has a somewhat more Mediterranean profile... The palate of this 2014 is better than the nose at the moment. Sisseck compared 2014 to 1995, an almost perfect year in the region."

"Hacienda Monasterio tends to make its best wines in cool vintages like 2014. Combining Tempranillo with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is fresh and leafy with notes of green herbs and aromatic coffee bean oak."

    Uccelliera

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"The 2014 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino is a simply fabulous effort in this vintage. It begins with inviting aromas of dried cherries and wild berries which are laced with leather, dried florals, minerals with hints of eucalyptus, orange rind andspices which all develop beautifully. It goes on to impress with its medium-plus body and gorgeous silky tannins that beautifully caress the palate. Displaying outstanding balance and finesse this goes on to throughly impress all the way through the lingering finish. This is drinking remarkably well even ay this early stage and should go on to evolve nicely with some bottle age. A magical effort from Andrea Cortonesi, who has who certainly excelled in making a wonderful wine in this extremely difficult vintage."

    Salvatore Molettieri

    Campania (Italy), Italy (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Salted or Marinated Mushrooms

"Fully saturated ruby. Deep, spicy aromas of red cherry, raspberry, black pepper, nutmeg and licorice on the captivating nose. Then dense, powerful and complex, offering pure flavors of floral red fruit and spicy herbs and noteworthy tannin/fruit/alcohol balance. Seamless and very bright, featuring a whiplash of refreshing acidity and floral red berries on the very long finish. This is a knockout Taurasi that will age splendidly, though it’s already approachable now. The vines are roughly 18-20 years old and are located at 550-600 meters above sea level on clay-calcareous soils. Ages 36 months in barriques and large oak barrels."

"Limpid, yellow-gold. A highly complex, mineral-laced bouquet evokes fresh citrus and orchard fruits, chalky minerals, sweet butter and white flowers. A hint of anise emerges with air. Shows noteworthy depth and sharp delineation in the mouth, offering vibrant orange zest, pear nectar, buttered toast and succulent herb flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. Powerful, yet graceful in character, displaying superb focus and mineral thrust on an impressively long finish that features lingering floral and orchard fruit flourishes. (Aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and used 500-liter French oak barrels.)"

"Lovely classic nose of sweet blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry fruit with some spice and vanilla notes. There’s also some leather and sweet damson, too. The palate is sweet and concentrated with lovely intensity, still quite a bit of fruit, and some first signs of maturity: undergrowth, prunes, herbs and leather. Very fine."

  10. New Saint-Joseph Le Passage by Stephane Ogier 2017

    Michel et Stéphane Ogier

    France (France), Northern Rhône (France)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

“A blend of two sites, one in Limony, one in Malleval. They complement each other well: the Limony component is a very pure, lifted expression with piercing acidity, snappy tannins, elegance and freshness. The Malleval side is darker in fruit, riper in tannin but with great energy and focus. The result is an exceptional St-Joseph of real interest, intensity and freshness.”
