Appleby Lane winery is a boutique winery located in Nelson, New Zealand. The winery was founded in 2008 by Kirsten and Peter Giles, who purchased an old apple orchard and transformed it into a vineyard. Kirsten and Peter both had a passion for wine and saw an opportunity to create something special in the region.

The winemaker at Appleby Lane is Julianne Brogden, who joined the winery in 2016. Julianne has a degree in viticulture and oenology from Lincoln University and has worked at several prestigious wineries in New Zealand and Australia. She is known for her expertise in cool-climate winemaking and her commitment to sustainable practices.

The vineyard is located in the picturesque Waimea Plains region of Nelson, which is known for its sunny days, cool nights, and fertile soils. The terroir is ideal for growing premium grapes, and the vineyard is planted with a variety of grapes, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Appleby Lane has received numerous awards for its wines, including a gold medal at the New Zealand International Wine Show and a silver medal at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
