    An Old World style Malbec that's interesting and a bit geeky. One the nose you will find elevated wild berry with slight floral character from the carbonic maceration. There are some herbal and tea undertones with a barnyard finish from the Brettanomyces.  The palate is fresh and the tannins are already integrated. A really enjoyable wine!

    Bright and intense garnet colour with nuances of dark purple and heavy, slow legs.  Intense and complex aromatic bouquet of cassis, dark berries, black currants and ripe blueberries and blackberries with hints of gaminess and earthiness. The second nose delivers fresh pepper, flowers and meatiness with layers of oak spice and torrefaction. On the palate a pleasant attack on ripe blackberries and cassis with a nice, smooth and creamy texture. The midpalate is rich and complex with layers of blackcurrant, oak spice, fresh pepper, vanilla and earthiness with a strong structure of mature tannins balanced with refreshing minerality. The final impression is long and persistent with berry flavour, oak tannins and a lush texture.

The second nose is showing more ripe blackberries, a hint of dried flowers as well as undergrowth. The palate is broad and refined attack on ripe blackberries, a firm, structured wine with a nice tension balanced with a lush texture. The midpalate expresses more fruit with layers of red and black wild berries, oak spice, dried flowers and creamy cacao beans. The final shows length and tension on fruit, minerality and firmer tannins with great elegant texture.

    Well this is attractive. This wine smells seductive and silky, if you could smell texture. Aromas of ripe plum and blueberry jam are layered with vanilla and cinnamon. On the pallet it is dry and juicy (ripe and acidic at the same time)  with silky tannins that grip up. The flavour warms and stays with you.  This Merlot and a steak is perfection.
