Casal Pilozzo is owned by the Pulcini family and is located in the village of Monte Porzio Catone, 15 Km south of Rome. It faces the northeast at an altitude of approximately 350/400 meters and is considered to be one of the oldest farms of Castelli Romani area. In the ancient cellars of Casale, wines mature in stable conditions of temperature and humidity.
The Casale was built on the ruins of an ancient dwelling-place, and several books report that it was the residence of the sister and nephew of Emperor Traiano. During the modern age it has also been the residence of many personalities - from the families of Filonardi Brandi e Bottai, to Orson Welles and Tyrone Power.
The wine production is strictly organic and supervised by Antonio Pulcini of Malvasia del Lazio, Grechetto Antico and Chardonnay for white wines and Pinot Nero, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah for reds. The vineyards and the vinification are all personally controlled by members of the Pulcini family.
