  1. $191.40

    Fiuza

    Portugal (Portugal), Tejo (Portugal)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Ham, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Vegetables

"This is a serious, structured wine with its firm tannins still in place. The rich, black plum fruits and layers of acidity still need a little time to develop and lessen the dryness of this wine. The aftertaste reveals a more juicy side."

    Dos Lusiadas

    6 x 750ml

    Pasta, Red Meat

In 2009, Rhone super star Michel Chapoutier picked out a plot in the Douro Valley. A small – very small – plot of 3 hectares, but full of promise: Eleivera. Here, the winters are tough, the summer a long, dry heatwave. To get sufficient output, Michel Chapoutier joined forces with local producers incredibly honest and pure representations of this region, which is a Unesco world heritage site. The bouquet shows intense with aromas of flowers, exotic fruit and red fruits. It is elegant with mineral notes. The palate is soft with a nice structure. There is a good weight and depth. Well balanced and fresh. The finish is long with the floral notes that linger. > Learn More

    Casa d'Arrochella

    Douro (Portugal), Portugal (Portugal)

    6 x 750 ml

Cured Meat, Red Meat, Veal roasted

"This sumptuously rich wine has the ripest black fruits along with solid tannins. The juicy acidity is what gives the wine its balance and that will develop as the powerful wine matures further."

A clear, deep black with sustained crimson highlights. A powerful nose, showing dark fruit at first, along with some “garrigue” and spicy notes. Aromas of fruit (cherries, prunes) macerated in “eau de vie” can also be detected. The whole is underpinned by mineral notes (graphite) that bring a great deal of freshness. Full on the palate supported by impressive velvety structure. There’s flesh, weight and depth, all rounded off by an incredibly long finish. The dark fruit comes through again, giving a crisp sensation underpinned by nice mineral tautness that endows this wine with freshness and remarkable balance. > Learn More
