    Isaac Fernandez Selección

Campo de Borja (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

“The 2017 Garnacha Tinto from Legado del Moncayo is nicely ripe, coming in at fourteen percent octane and delivering a classic varietal nose of black raspberries, roasted venison, pepper, garrigue, a touch of celery seed and a complex base of stony soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and impressively soil-driven, with a rock solid core, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and very well-balanced finish. This is an insanely good value at $11 per bottle here in the states and reminds me of when Châteauneuf du Pape was the bargain in French wines back in the early 1980s! It is approachable today, but will also age very nicely and will be even better with a few years in the cellar to let the tannins soften up a bit more. A great value! 2019- 2035.”

"Ripe strawberry nose. Crisp and dry on the attack, the Legado del Moncayo offers a nice bright focus of concentrated red berries and stone fruit on the palate along with excellent acidity and freshness. Finishes crisply with good persistence."

"Brilliant pink. Intense red berry and tangerine scents show very good clarity and a suave floral note that builds in the glass. Silky, seamless and broad on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and blood orange flavors underscored by a smoky mineral nuance. Finishes sappy and quite long, featuring echoing red fruit character and a touch of candied rose. I really like the interplay of power and finesse here."

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Salted or Marinated Mushrooms

"I loved the wild character of the young, unoaked 2017 Señorío de P. Peciña Cosecha, mostly Tempranillo with some 3% Garnacha and 2% Graciano fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. It had a light maceration and extraction and was kept in tank for two months before bottling. It has a raw and savage nose, mixing raspberry leaf and earthy aromas, full of character with elegant rusticity. It's juicy and chewy, as pure as it gets. I'd love to see this wine in a couple of years. 60,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2017."

    Terres de Vidalba

    Priorat (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    6 x 750 ml

“The 2007 TOCS was sourced from a single vineyard named Barranc de la Bruixa located outside the town of Poboleda. The blend is 35% Garnacha, 30% Syrah, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 16 months in 20% new French oak. Aromas of wood smoke, mineral, herbs, lavender, black cherry, and blueberry inform the nose of this layered, opulent Priorat. With excellent volume and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years, this sweetly-fruited, lengthy offering will be at its best from 2013 to 2022.” - Wine Advocate, May 2011

"One of a number of new projects at this restlessly innovative winery in San Vicente, this small lot white combines Viura with 20% each of Malvasía and Garnacha Blanca and spends 36 months in French oak. Rich and concentrated, yet comparatively low in alcohol, it has smoky wood, creamy lees and pithy acidity."

    Ferrer Bobet

    Priorat (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Salted or Marinated Mushrooms

"Deep, dark though not saturated black-red. Dense, close-grained aromas of great subtlety and complexity: a sense of stone and savoury depths as well as sweet yet austere black fruits. Deep, dark, vivid and profound yet provocative flavours which, as the aromas suggested, tread the fine line between sweetness and austerity (thanks to the Carignan-dominated blend). There is great complexity and finesse here. 2018-2025."

    Clos Figueras

    Priorat (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"Dark black and red in colour, this Gratallops-grown blend of older vine Garnatxa and Carinyena, with 10% of Syrah and 5% of Cabernet Sauvignon, is fermented in mainly older 500 litre barrels before being aged in new and one year old barriques and 300 litre casks. The scents are sweetly enticing for the time being and, tasting this in the context of a vertical, it will turn creamy after a few years, and truffley with further maturation time. The easy, swinging balance of the damson-like Gratallops fruit is evident, but so too is the concentration and innate drama of the wine, the vines producing just half a kilo of grapes each. Having begun richly, you realise by the finish that the wine is a poised mid-weight."
