    Quintessa

California (USA), Napa Valley (USA), USA (USA)

    6 x 750 ml

Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Veal roasted

“The 2017 Quintessa is an absolutely sensational showing in this vintage. Composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Carmenére and 1% Petit Verdot, this begins with striking aromas of dark cherries and currants followed by spices, loam, dark cocoa powder, wild flowers, herbs and hints of baking spices all taking shape. On the palate this is full-bodied and structured with well-polished tannins framed by a beautifully touch of acidy providing a wonderful sense of freshness. Flavours of dark currants, baking spices and loam continue to leave a lasting impression on the supple finish. This is a total beauty that is drinking exceptionally well today, but also shows wonderful aging potential as well. 2020-2037.”

95 Points - International Wine Report, July 2020

“Already bottled, the 2017 Quintessa displays a deep garnet-purple colour. The nose needs a little coaxing before it reveals bold, expressive notes of crushed red and black plums, black currant jelly, wild blueberries and kirsch with nuances of camphor, cloves, cedar and lilacs plus a hint of oolong tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has beautifully expressed, elegant red and black fruit layers, with a sturdy, grainy frame and plenty of freshness, finishing long and earthy.”

    95 Points - Wine Advocate, October 2019

"Crushed berries, incense and blackberries with black-olive undertones. Extremely perfumed. Medium to full body. Very intense for a 2017. Crafted and polished. Long and caressing. Elegant. Drink or hold."

    95 Points - James Suckling, February 2020

  2. New Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Napa Valley by Groth 2016

    $1,415.40

    Groth

    California (USA), Napa Valley (USA)

    12 x 750 ml

Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Veal roasted

"Cameron Parry found his cabernet vines ripened their fruit in 2016 at Brix levels that were lower than usual, sustaining acidity in the grapes. They produced a young and luscious Oakville cabernet, the wine integrating oak and fruit tannins in a way that supercharges its flavors. Rather than weighing the wine down, the structure empowers it, presenting plummy blue fruit, scents of cassis and fruity-umami notes of mushrooms that last, gracious, gentle and refined."

    94 Points - Wine & Spirits Magazine

"Blended with 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, this Cabernet opens with earthy aromas of tar, sage and cedar. It expands on the palate to show an elegant structure of finessed, supple tannins alongside layers of clove and cinnamon atop ripe red and black berries."
