"The 2016 Viña Jaraba Cosecha is produced from a cépages of eighty percent tempranillo and ten percent each of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. It sees only four months in a combination of French and American oak casks prior to racking into tank and eventual bottling. The wine offers up a very good bouquet of black cherries, cassis, a bit of cigar smoke and a nice base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and shows good mid-palate depth, with a bit of backend tannin and good length and grip on the finish. This is not overly complex, but it has depth and plenty of personality and sells for the princely sum of ten dollars a bottle here in the US, so it is an excellent value! 2018-2025+."

Intense cherry red colour. Fruity, it has a woody note. Elegant and long, nice ending.

The blend is 35% Garnacha, 30% Syrah, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 16 months in 20% new French oak. Aromas of wood smoke, mineral, herbs, lavender, black cherry, and blueberry inform the nose of this layered, opulent Priorat. "The 2012 Thalarn is a great cool-climate Syrah, reminiscent of a Northern Rhone, or rather a Syrah from Valais, with its wild, slightly rustic character. Right now it is covered by the baby fat and the aromas from the best French oak money can buy, as it’s extremely young, and needs some years to grow up. While delicious right now, it will only get better if you wait. It has a fine palate, with a silky texture and saturated, round tannins. The 2008, the first vintage from a cool year which only reached 11.3% alcohol, is sublime now, if that gives you a hint about drinking windows. Drink 2015-2022."

Vivid ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh blueberry and woodsmoke, with a suave floral quality emerging with air. Sweet dark berry and spicecake flavors put on weight with and pick up a floral pastille nuance. Fresh and energetic, with a lingering note of dark berry preserves on the supple finish.
