    Château Des Charmes

Canada (Canada), Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Rich Fish, Vegetables, White Meat

“…a very fine, powerful, concentrated vintage for the CdC old vines riesling, offering plenty of flesh and bones, more full bodied than the average in Niagara (12% alcohol). The palate is almost fully dry, supported by rich, ripe acids, and length is very good to excellent. I love the brisk, lime and lemon flavours, the green apple and the citrus blossom florality. Lovely stuff.”

The nerve! How can it be so good so soon? In truth, this strikingly bright 2013 Sauvignon Blanc has been confidently bounding towards the bottle since the first berry was picked. Brian saw this fast rising star far off and redirected its energy to support the rapid and sure-footed maturation. "This just oozes passion fruit," reflects Brian, "plus I get a marked white pepper sensation." Juicy with a crisp acidity, this full on wine begs for a disc of fine chèvre, calamari fritti, ceviche or even smoked fish. > Learn More

"This is a very attractive gewürztraminer, listed as off-dry but really quite dry to my palate. It displays very good weight and texture, with good structure and balance. Winemaker Angelo Pavan is forthright about his approach to this variety: “The acidity drops quickly in gewürztraminer, and a lot of people pick early to get the acidity. But I prefer to pick it later, to make sure the fruit is ripe. Gewürztraminer isn’t about acidity; you want this oily texture. If you want acidity, drink riesling.” This example clearly embodies his approach. It shows the classic flavour profile, some viscosity in the texture, and the characteristic slight bitterness toward the back palate. And the acidity? This is not a fat, low-acid gewürztraminer, any more than it’s the blowsy style. The acidity is here in ample degree, well balanced with the fruit, and adding freshness to the other qualities of this well-made wine." 4 1/2 out of 5 stars - Rod Phillips, Winepointer, Nov 2014 (2012 vintage) 90 Points - Globe and Mail - Beppi Crosariol > Learn More

Creekside's flagship red grape variety continues to deliver elegance and great flavour. The 2013 vintage is decidedly aromatic, with aromas of violets, plum, red currant and white pepper. The palate is medium bodied with bright fruit flavours of wild raspberry and strawberry, followed by a savoury cedar and white pepper finish. This wine is just dandy now but will develop further in bottle. > Learn More

Warmer than normal temperatures throughout September and into October allowed us to fully ripen all of our Sauvignon Blanc, bringing exotic passion fruit, pineapple, and papaya notes to the boxwood-focused aromatic profile. Even without oak, the wine is richly textured, with a tropical fruit core balanced by a crisp acid backbone for excellent structure.

The dynamic aroma of this Sparkling Rose is initially a robust, toasted wallop, but quickly develops into a more delicate strawberry scent. Tart flavors of black cherry and raspberry nicely balance the wine's mild sweetness and are punctuated by generous waves of carbonated bubbles. > Learn More

"Based on a spontaneous mutation of the red Beaujolais grape and isolated in the early 1980's by winery founder Paul Bosc Sr., this is just as serious as it is happy. Light and crisp, yet smoothly polished, it's perfectly ripe and cherry-like as well as subtly smoky and spicy."

    Cave Spring Cellars

    6 x 750 ml

Ageworthy, succulent and polished to perfection, this estate-grown wine features some old-vine fruit. It offers a range of citrus fruits, backed by juicy, refreshing acidity. There's depth and structure for long aging, but it may be difficult to keep hidden in the cellar for very long. Drink 2020–2035.

This wine is burgundy in colour with garnet hues to the edge. On the nose, spicy notes of cloves and cinnamon along with penetrating red berry fruit are at the forefront, with earthy undertones in behind. The palate combines bright raspberry and Bing cherry fruit, crisp but well-integrated acidity and great intensity and persistence of flavour throughout. There is a definite gaminess and a hint of white pepper that lingers very long on the finish. All in all, this cooler vintage has delivered a classically-structured Pinot of considerable complexity. > Learn More
