A selection of the best plots from 35 to 50-year-old vines, La Chaintree is aged 24 months in neutral 500L oak barrels.
“We find here the same righteousness and freshness that in the Rogelins, but with a more discreet tannic grain, a more open fruit. The palate is balanced. This winemaker has a real idea of what are the elegance and nuance in the cabernet franc.” - Four Stars - Revue des Vins de France 2003

"Deep, dark though not saturated black-red. Dense, close-grained aromas of great subtlety and complexity: a sense of stone and savoury depths as well as sweet yet austere black fruits. Deep, dark, vivid and profound yet provocative flavours which, as the aromas suggested, tread the fine line between sweetness and austerity (thanks to the Carignan-dominated blend). There is great complexity and finesse here. 2018-2025."

"Composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep purple-black in color and features very youthful, primary blackcurrants, crushed blueberries and fresh black cherries scents with suggestions of cedar chest, roses and pencil shavings. The medium to full-bodied palate exhibits fantastic harmony, with the intense black fruit layers well supported by super ripe tannins, finishing very long and complex."
