This wine comes from various estate vineyards all enjoying south or south-eastern exposures. 90% Sangiovese is blended with 5% Cabernet and 5% Merlot. Densely planted to 5600 plants per hectare, the vines grow in sandy limestone-rich soils. The grapes are macerated for over a week and vinified in steel or concrete vats. Deep red ruby with fresh fruit, mineral and floral aromas. Red berry fruits dominate the palate with well-integrated acidity and tannins. Beautifully balanced.

"Thoroughly delicious, this Merlot based wine offers a dash of Pomerol-like plushness and breed at a petit château price. It opens with a bright bouquet of blackberry, mocha-vanilla, and violets. One the palate, medium-bodied, with juicy black cherry and red berry fruit, finishing with soft, velvety tannins and a hint of vanilla. Wonderful purity, loaded with easy-drinking charm; yet there is considerable depth here as well."

Gorgeous in the glass, the deeply colored wine entices with aromatics of black cherry, pipe tobacco and sweet anise. The lively entry is full of rich red fruits of cherries, plums and a touch of cola, and the plush middle caresses with a silky and smooth mouthfeel. "The 2016 Chianti Colli Fiorentini Riserva La Toretta is a classy, polished wine. Light on its feet, silky and perfumed, the 2016 has so much to offer. Succulent dark cherry, mint, lavender, spice and licorice show off the slightly darker side of Sangiovese. Sweet floral and spice notes add lift and nuance to this classy, super-expressive Chianti."

    Terres de Vidalba

    Priorat (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    6 x 750 ml

“The 2007 TOCS was sourced from a single vineyard named Barranc de la Bruixa located outside the town of Poboleda. The blend is 35% Garnacha, 30% Syrah, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 16 months in 20% new French oak. Aromas of wood smoke, mineral, herbs, lavender, black cherry, and blueberry inform the nose of this layered, opulent Priorat. With excellent volume and enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years, this sweetly-fruited, lengthy offering will be at its best from 2013 to 2022.” - Wine Advocate, May 2011
