Sinopie refers to the guide lines that artists drew on the walls in preparation to paint large fresco's. Our own guide lines for making Sinopie Chianti are the crispness of its fruit, the vibrancy of acidity and its genius for pairing with foods. Such is the Sangiovese in the style of Classic Chianti. The wine exhibits bright cherry and raspberry fruit aromas with a hint of dried herbs. The palate is light to medium bodied with fresh cherries and a salty black licorice finish. > Learn More

Valpolicella is the quintessential pizza and pasta wine, grown in the Veneto region of Italy, just north of Verona. Aromatic wine with cherries and a hint of almond. Lighter-bodied and predominantly fruity, it shows unusually good fruit concentration for Valpolicella, with lovely cherry fruit flavours, violets and a hint of white pepper. > Learn More

"Tawse has been producing wines from the organically farmed Laundry Vineyard since 2002 and until now the Merlot has always been used in our red blends. 2013 sees the debut of the first single vineyard Merlot from that site, as a replacement for the beloved David’s Block. Aged in 40% new oak barrels, the colour is beautifully brilliant with a nose bursting with blackberry jam, alongside notes of vanilla, toasty oak and cardamom. Big, bold yet approachable tannins are experienced at the start before the toast and spice notes hit mid-palate. The finish is long, smooth and satisfying." - Paul Pender, Winemaker

    Château Lagrave Paran

    Bordeaux (France), France (France)

    6 x 750 ml

    Breads, Red Meat, Vegetables

The 2012 Cuvée Géraldine instantly opens to aromas of dark fruits, damp soil and roasted coffee with hints of tar and hints of wet stones. On the palate this offers a gorgeous medium-plus body with beautifully polished, nicely integrated tannins and a lush mouthfeel. This shows a lovely combination of fruit and acidity with is underlined by a mineral streak through the long finish. Lingering flavours of dried fig, black pepper, and chocolate raspberry fudge finish with crunchy tannins. This is drinking remarkably well now; but should also hold up a few more years in the cellar.
