    Andover Estate

    California (USA), Central Coast (USA)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

Andover wines are pure expressions of their varieties and the singular terroir of our estate vineyards. This Pinot Noir is high toned, open and perfumed with intense aromatics and layers of ripe red fruit. Flavors of strawberries, raspberries and cherries blend elegantly with an underlying stratum of vanilla from 12 months of aging on French oak. The tannins are soft and silky and the finish is elegant and graceful. Arroyo Seco is a remarkable sub-appellation that consistently yields a deep and compelling Pinot Noir.

  2. New Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP by Tiberio 2016

    $299.40

    Azienda Agricola Tiberio

    Abruzzo (Italy), Italy (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Red Meat

"Good bright red. Vibrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry, licorice and minerals, complicated by delicate hints of spices (coriander, cumin, tarragon). Then very silky on the palate, but displaying outstanding lift and intensity to the flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, flowers and tar. Very suave but juicy and fresh Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wine with none of the heaviness that often drags down wines of this variety. The finish is suave and bracing and shows a delightful light touch."

    Isaac Fernandez Selección

    Ribeira Sacra (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Soft Cheese

These fifty-plus year-old Mencía vines have succeeded nicely in 2016, offering up a fine aromatic constellation of cassis, pepper, espresso, graphite, a superb base of slate and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is pure, fullbodied and nicely sappy at the core, with impressive transparency, modest tannins and a long, tangy and complex finish. This is still a young wine and will gain in complexity with further bottle age, but it is very nicely balanced out of the blocks and already a pleasure to drink. Quite a classic example of the slightly moredelicate style of Mencía planted on the terraces above the Miño River.

"The 2016 Pommard has a fragrant bouquet, poised and elegant with blackberry and crushed strawberry scents. The palate is clean and fresh, quite detailed for a Village Cru with a focused and lightly spiced finish. Very fine." - Neal Martin, Vinous Media, July 2018

    3 bottles x Thalarn 2012

    3 bottles x Quest 2011

"The 2012 Thalarn is a great cool-climate Syrah, reminiscent of a Northern Rhone, or rather a Syrah from Valais, with its wild, slightly rustic character. Right now it is covered by the baby fat and the aromas from the best French oak money can buy, as it’s extremely young, and needs some years to grow up. While delicious right now, it will only get better if you wait. It has a fine palate, with a silky texture and saturated, round tannins. The 2008, the first vintage from a cool year which only reached 11.3% alcohol, is sublime now, if that gives you a hint about drinking windows. Drink 2015-2022."

95 points - Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate, Feb 2014

Vivid ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh blueberry and woodsmoke, with a suave floral quality emerging with air. Sweet dark berry and spicecake flavors put on weight with and pick up a floral pastille nuance. Fresh and energetic, with a lingering note of dark berry preserves on the supple finish.
