    Isaac Fernandez Selección

Campo de Borja (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

“The 2017 Garnacha Tinto from Legado del Moncayo is nicely ripe, coming in at fourteen percent octane and delivering a classic varietal nose of black raspberries, roasted venison, pepper, garrigue, a touch of celery seed and a complex base of stony soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and impressively soil-driven, with a rock solid core, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and very well-balanced finish. This is an insanely good value at $11 per bottle here in the states and reminds me of when Châteauneuf du Pape was the bargain in French wines back in the early 1980s! It is approachable today, but will also age very nicely and will be even better with a few years in the cellar to let the tannins soften up a bit more. A great value! 2019- 2035.”

    Pago de la Jaraba

Castilla La Mancha (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Cured Meat, Ham, Red Meat, Vegetables

"The 2016 Viña Jaraba Cosecha is produced from a cépages of eighty percent tempranillo and ten percent each of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. It sees only four months in a combination of French and American oak casks prior to racking into tank and eventual bottling. The wine offers up a very good bouquet of black cherries, cassis, a bit of cigar smoke and a nice base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and shows good mid-palate depth, with a bit of backend tannin and good length and grip on the finish. This is not overly complex, but it has depth and plenty of personality and sells for the princely sum of ten dollars a bottle here in the US, so it is an excellent value! 2018-2025+."

    Matsu

    Spain (Spain), Toro (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

Picaro means 'rogue' or 'rascal', and this rapscallion of a wine is a youthful interpretation of the Toro region's style. The grapes come from mature vines of over 50 years of age, but the wine spends only three months in oak, preserving their natural fruit profile. Vivid crimson-purple in the glass. Aromas are of ripe blackberries and raspberries, with subtle hints of fresh cocoa. The palate is bold yet supple, with ripe tannins and a mineral grip. Enjoy on its own or with boldly flavoured pasta dishes or spicy meat skewers.

    Rioja (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Salted or Marinated Mushrooms

"I loved the wild character of the young, unoaked 2017 Señorío de P. Peciña Cosecha, mostly Tempranillo with some 3% Garnacha and 2% Graciano fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. It had a light maceration and extraction and was kept in tank for two months before bottling. It has a raw and savage nose, mixing raspberry leaf and earthy aromas, full of character with elegant rusticity. It's juicy and chewy, as pure as it gets. I'd love to see this wine in a couple of years. 60,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2017."

    Más Buscados

Castilla La Mancha (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    6 x 750 ml

Ham, Pasta, Red Meat, Veal roasted, Vegetables

Literally meaning "the most wanted", Vinos Más Buscados is a collection of wines grown and nurtured in the Southern half of Spain, mainly in the area known as La Mancha.

Ripe blackberry, raspberry and subtle peppery notes, with finely grained tannins and a persistent finish, this is astonishing value.

"Bright and fragrant, the nicely lifted bouquet shows spiced cherry, plum, thyme and floral characters, leading to a beautifully rounded palate that is juicy and vibrant. The wine offers sweet berry flavours with fine texture and a firm finish, making it a great all-rounder for flavoursome dishes. At its best: now to 2020." 90/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2017

"Brambly fruit characters, augmented with smoky, spicy secondary notes. In the mouth, a rich, creamy, generous wine, and yet it has great structure, fine tannins, balanced acidity and a long finish. Classy wine at an attractive price." Paul Tudor MW, Metro Magazine Top 50 Wines For 2018

    Ribeira Sacra (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Soft Cheese

These fifty-plus year-old Mencía vines have succeeded nicely in 2016, offering up a fine aromatic constellation of cassis, pepper, espresso, graphite, a superb base of slate and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is pure, fullbodied and nicely sappy at the core, with impressive transparency, modest tannins and a long, tangy and complex finish. This is still a young wine and will gain in complexity with further bottle age, but it is very nicely balanced out of the blocks and already a pleasure to drink. Quite a classic example of the slightly moredelicate style of Mencía planted on the terraces above the Miño River.
