    "The 2016 Viña Jaraba Cosecha is produced from a cépages of eighty percent tempranillo and ten percent each of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. It sees only four months in a combination of French and American oak casks prior to racking into tank and eventual bottling. The wine offers up a very good bouquet of black cherries, cassis, a bit of cigar smoke and a nice base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and shows good mid-palate depth, with a bit of backend tannin and good length and grip on the finish. This is not overly complex, but it has depth and plenty of personality and sells for the princely sum of ten dollars a bottle here in the US, so it is an excellent value! 2018-2025+."

    “The 2017 Garnacha Tinto from Legado del Moncayo is nicely ripe, coming in at fourteen percent octane and delivering a classic varietal nose of black raspberries, roasted venison, pepper, garrigue, a touch of celery seed and a complex base of stony soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and impressively soil-driven, with a rock solid core, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and very well-balanced finish. This is an insanely good value at $11 per bottle here in the states and reminds me of when Châteauneuf du Pape was the bargain in French wines back in the early 1980s! It is approachable today, but will also age very nicely and will be even better with a few years in the cellar to let the tannins soften up a bit more. A great value! 2019- 2035.”

Aromas are of ripe blackberries and raspberries, with subtle hints of fresh cocoa. The palate is bold yet supple, with ripe tannins and a mineral grip.     This wine comes from various estate vineyards all enjoying south or south-eastern exposures. 90% Sangiovese is blended with 5% Cabernet and 5% Merlot. Densely planted to 5600 plants per hectare, the vines grow in sandy limestone-rich soils. The grapes are macerated for over a week and vinified in steel or concrete vats. Deep red ruby with fresh fruit, mineral and floral aromas. Red berry fruits dominate the palate with well-integrated acidity and tannins. Beautifully balanced.
