"Lush fresh fruit aromas mingle with lime blossom, sage, laurel and touch of salt and pepper. The refreshing, bright and lively palate is dry with flavours of citrus and chalky minerality. Good definition."

Mediterra
Mediterra Winery is situated in the village of Kounavi, near the city of Heraklion in Crete. The village's name reflects its rich heritage in ancient winemaking traditions, with 'kanaves' being the term for the historic wine presses on the island.
The winery is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for winemaking. Additionally, it features underground wine cellars capable of holding over 500 oak barrels, including both 300-liter and 225-liter barriques.
Mediterra comprises two distinct brands: Mediterra label wines, such as the exclusive Pyrorago red and the Anassa white (a blend of Vilana and Sauvignon Blanc aged sur lie in French oak barriques). The Creta Olympias label offers classic Greek varietals and dessert wines like Mavrodaphne, Muscat of Samos, and Muscat of Patras.
These wines are distributed to more than 20 countries worldwide and have garnered numerous accolades in international wine competitions. The company explores the untapped potential of indigenous grapes in Crete, such as Vilana, Thrapsathiri, Kotsifali, and Mandilari, presenting them both as single-varietal bottlings and in blends with international varieties like Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
