"Made with 65-year-old vines, the oldest in the entire Lazzarito cru, the compelling Guido Porro 2021 Lazzairasco boasts intense aromas of rose, forest floor, menthol and woodland berry. Always the most austere of the estate's Barolos, the focused, firmly structured palate has great precision, delivering red cherry, raspberry, licorice, orange peel and mentholated notes alongside a backbone of firm, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it energized and balanced."

Guido Porro

With many prized vineyards in Barolo’s Serralunga, the Porro family have long grown grapes and fermented wine, however, they historically sold their fruit or wine (in demijohn) to other producers. Only recently have they started bottling under their eponymous label. These soulful, naturally made Barolos are some of the most moving expressions of the Nebbiolo grape one could ever hope to drink—from a family whose history in the Barolo region surely qualifies as 'epic.'
