What's In The Box:
2 x 750ml Hacienda Lopez de Haro Rioja Blanco by Bodega Classica 2022
Viura from 50-80 year-old vines near San Vicente de la Sonsierra in Rioja Alta and aged for 3 months in French oak barrels. White fruit and flowers on the nose, following through on the palate with riper fruit, good structure, freshness and complexity. Long, pleasant finish. This wine is a steal!
2 x 750ml Granite Languedoc by Vignerons Proprietes Associes 2022
The 2022 Granite is a rich ruby-red color with aromas of the Mediterranean. Notes of delicate herbs like lavender, thyme and juniper with hints of red berries and black currents balance the soft tannins and roundness on the palate. This wine showcases the uniqueness of the Languedoc region at an unbeatable price.
2 x 750ml Siccari Appassimento Rosso IGT Terre Siciliane by Purato 2021
The name Siccari comes from the Sicilian dialect for “seccare” , which translates as “to dry” in the context of foods, something that is very much a part of Sicilian culture. The wine is name as an indicator of the style, since a proportion of the grapes are sun-dried before vinification. Creating a red wine using appassimento brings a whole new dimension to a wine - Siccari has a rich and complex structure, with very soft berry fruits and a touch of spice. Incredibly characterful, it has layer upon layer of intense and diverse fruit flavours and a very long finish.
2 x 750ml Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc by Mahi 2022
The focus for Mahi with the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is to provide a wine that has texture and depth, rather than focusing solely on primary fruit notes. Winemaker, Brian Bicknell, wants a wine that satisfies across the palate, and as such employs a number of techniques to achieve this. The Marlborough Sauvignon this year comes from six different vineyards, all of them giving particular attributes to the final wine. The hand-picked fruit was whole-cluster pressed so that the time on skins was minimised. A portion of this juice, 20% this year, was barrel-fermented in older French oak to give greater weight, though ensuring that wood is not evident on the nose. This wine shows an array of fruit characters, ranging from citrus through to tropical notes. This is complemented by some secondary characters from the natural yeast ferments and also some barrel ageing. The palate has an elegant structure with a creamy, textural mid-palate and a long finish.
2 x 750ml Cadillac Cotes de Bordeaux by Château Paillet-Quancard 2019
An amazing value for this lovely expression of this Merlot dominant Bordeaux blend. Aromas of black current and cherries are complimented by earth and touches of burnt wood. Smooth and silky tannins round out the texture.
"A ripe, oak-aged wine with touches of spice and tannins, this is full of black-currant flavors. A smoky character comes through at the end."

2 x 750ml Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon by Pertaringa 2019
“This rose-colored South Aussie Cab delivers in a big way. It opens with bright, lucid aromas of red berry, baking spice, tree bark and flowers. The tannins are well-integrated, soft yet present, gently tugging on the fruit, which gets a lift from the crunchy acidity. It's a modern, medium-weight Aussie Cab that should be a weeknight staple.”
