Tasting Notes

This champagne is pure chardonnay brilliance that is sourced from 3 of Champagne's most famous villages. Its striking nose speaks to the heart of the most hallowed hills of champagne. Piercing mineral and chalk, combined with layered, crystalline fruit exude from the nose. Tense and chiseled on the palate, with incredible weight, depth and complexity coming from the warm vintage. The interplay of this richness and tension makes for an utterly compelling vivid champagne. How this is a fraction of the cost of their more famous neighbours, is astounding.

The Producer

Michel Gonet

Michel Gonet is an undercover Côte de Blancs superstar that predates most Champagne Houses. They arrived in the region during the 15th century and founded their estate in 1802 (long before Krug or Pierre Peters).

Winemaker Sophie Gonet has enlisted the help of world famous Sommelier Marco Pelletier, and has become so close to Jean-Marc Roulot that he now provides his barrels for them to use for aging. They, like us cannot believe the quality level of these wines given the price, and are committed to making them a household name just like their neighbours.
