    Henry Of Pelham

Canada (Canada), Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    12 x 750 ml

Bright, white and out of sight; the triumvirate of Riesling, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. Long names and hard to pronounce, so we call this wine 'White'. Not just another single varietal wine -- why choose one grape when you can have three? Think lime citrus and apple freshness with a dash of lychee fruit, in that order. As someone said at a recent event, tastes like a sun-vacation. > Learn More

"Now that fashion has shifted from once trendy white blends to #roséallday, the brands like Family Tree that remain are ones that have stood the test of time. They’ve found an audience because they offer considerable charm and appeal — and, in this instance, solid value. This is a rich and rewarding blend of chardonnay, viognier, gewürztraminer and chardonnay musqué, with the majority fermented in stainless tanks to preserve freshness and fragrance, and a portion fermented and aged in oak barrels for increased complexity and texture. As a result, it’s nicely balanced, layered with flavour and refreshment, which makes it truly enjoyable with or without a meal. Drink now to 2022."

"Twisted is the flagship white of a laudible, high-end Niagara winery, unlike many of its peers in this country and beyond, has kept a sane lid on prices. The wine is a blend of Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay, and this is the first vintage under the eye of winemaker Dave Sheppard.
Perfectly off-dry, intriguingly oily and for the sake of a foreign frame of reference - voluptuously Alsatian. Plump and musky, it offers up flavours of apricot, peach and baked apple, like a mixed-fruit country pie. A well-crafted blend that combines Riesling’s zip with Gewurztraminer’s aromatics and Chardonnay’s flesh."

Originally cultivated in what is today the Burgundy region of France, the Chardonnay is a pale green grape used in the creation of white wines. While much of the grape production remains focused on France, this grape thrives in many places around the world. In fact, it would be difficult to find an area of the planet where wine is produced without the presence of this grape. The popularity of this grape exceeds that of many other varieties. Much of this is due to the qualities that it brings to the making of wine. Under optimum conditions, the result is a wine with a relatively high alcohol content, a nice mix of sweetness with tartness, and a clear color that pleases the eye. The fact that the wine also has a bouquet many people find pleasant also ensures it’s a favorite. The wine made with Chardonnay is ideal for use at the table, in cooking, and as something pleasant to offer company. With the increase in popularity of this grape, it’s safe to say it will be remain a favorite for generations to come.
