Maison Louis Jadot, established by Louis Henry Denis Jadot in 1859, is a renowned winery with a rich history. The Jadot family's first vineyard acquisition dates back to 1826, with the purchase of the Beaune vineyard, Clos des Ursules.
This family-run wine company specializes in the production and promotion of Burgundy wines. They manage both their own vineyards and procure grapes from other cultivators. Covering an impressive 270 hectares (670 acres) of vineyards in Burgundy, which includes Beaujolais Crus, the estate exclusively crafts wines with the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) designation.
Louis Jadot extends its influence to the Mâconnais region, boasting Domaine Ferret in Fuissé and Château des Jacques in Moulin à Vent within the Beaujolais area. In 1996, a strategic partnership was forged between Louis Jadot and Tonnellerie Vicard, leading to the establishment of their own cooperage named Cadus. This initiative aimed to produce French oak barrels adhering to the Burgundian tradition.
